Consumer's Guide to Hearing Aids

The Beaverton Library just added 2 copies of a very useful publication called "the Consumer's Guide to Hearing Aids." (2008 ed)
  • It is produced by a private company, the James Wilson Group Strategic Solutions that according to the publication: "receives no funding from any hearing aid manufacturers or component manufacturers. The information provided in this Guide is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists bewteen the patient and the hearing care professional."
  • This is a free publication that I found and thought would answer the needs of our library patrons. I will try to stay on top of getting copies each year.
  • The publication answers all the kinds of questions that consumers would ask when thinking of purchasing a hearing aid of some sort.
  • One of the especially nice things about this resource is that it offers the distinction between the different kinds of hearing aids, analog vs. digital.
  • It also provides "Consumer Report " like tables for the analog and digital hearing aids that offer comparisons of the many hearing aid models.
  • A copy can be found on the Consumer side of Index Table 3 for library use only and a copy is avaialable for checkout. (617.89 CON 2008)
