Online consumer product resource - Consumersearch.com

Consumer product related questions are a staple at most public libraries. Along with existing resources, such as Consumer Reports, there is another excellent free online resource called ConsumerSearch. To access it go to www.consumersearch.com. (I have personally used this site to find reviews for products that I could not find elsewhere!!!)
When you find yourself on the main page of the site you will see that there are different ways to search the site : a) by entering the product or service that you are looking for in the Search box at the top of the page, b) by selecting a general subject area that your product and/or service would fall under, et al.
Information below offers more details about the site itself and the kind of information they provide.

How ConsumerSearch.com got started
The seeds of ConsumerSearch were planted in 1991 when the company's founder, Derek Drew, was researching the purchase of a "Desktop Publishing System" for a new business. Drew found that he was unable to make an intelligent purchase decision without having to stitch together reviews of the products from three different computer magazines, a task that was both overwhelming and time consuming. Drew recognized the need for a resource that could quickly and reliably tie together the reviews of these publications. ConsumerSearch.com is the result of that experience.
In May 2007, ConsumerSearch.com was acquired by About.com. About.com is one of the 15th most visited sites in the US and a part of The New York Times Company.

What ConsumerSearch.com Does
For each product category, ConsumerSearch offers:
All The Reviews Reviewed: Our ranking and descriptions of all the top reviews, complete with links.
Full Story: Our complete analysis of who the experts are and what they say.
Fast Answers: Our listing of the top-rated products, according to the experts.
Where to Buy: Prices and links to retailers that offer the recommended products.
At ConsumerSearch, you will not find reports that read like advertising copy or warmed-over press releases. We strive to make our content tough and precise, and at no point are our editors influenced by advertising or other commercial considerations. Our purpose is to report the truth about what the experts are really saying. You can also use our service as a search engine to find product reviews and information, as our name suggests.
